While climbing Mount Meru takes four days, its no easy feat. Reaching the summit requires navigating high-altitude terrain and dark rock formations. On the day of your ascent, you should prepare for a minimum of 10 hours of hiking. For those looking for an easier route, consider ascending only to the Horn of the Rhinoceros to watch the sunrise before descending.

Mount Meruru is located within Arusha National Park. The park requires all groups to be accompanied by a rangers directly employed by the park. These rangers carry rifles to deter nearby animals like elephants or African buffalo when necessary. Additionally, you will have a personal guide who will manage your group and ensure your safety throughout the experience.
